I'm definitely going to give this a try next tomato season! I recently made green tomato ketchup ('cos I couldn't find my years-ago recipe for green tomato chutney, grrr) and it came out pretty well. I used the recipe at www.storiography.com/journal/green-tomato-ketchup as a base and ramped up the spices to suit me, since I like things more intensely flavored than many people. I'm looking forward to exploring & trying more of your recipes - thanks!!

Thanks so much for the detailed photos and recipe. Sounds like something that would go great as a samosa dip or some global mixing like that. Too many people miss the opportunity to make ketchup and therefore get beyond the bottle.

TAMI: I just searched to see if I had photos of the cutting process but unfortunately I don't. I cut them with a regular old chef's knife. Just cut them into to oblong discs and then cut them into thin sticks. I hope that helps.

Please tell me what you use to cut your spf with? My family of 5 loves them but they are so darn hard and labor intensive to cut. I would love your advice. Thank you!
